The public thought that that would be Adam Fantilli, but Anaheim surprised them and added him to their roster Leo Carlsson, as that was the 1st surprise in the 2023 NHL Draft after it was certain that Chicago Blackhawks would pick 1st Connor Bedard.
“I talked with the Ducks yesterday,” Leo shared with the media after he was drafted. “I was very positive.”
Anaheim is in rebuild mode, as the biggest thing that the franchise can sell is a promise. Ducks count on the future with players like Jamie Drysdale, Mason McTavish, Troy Terry, and Trevor Zegras. Anaheim farm system is one of the greatest in the National Hockey League.
We caught up with Leo Carlsson to ask about his draft night experience, his wild trip to get to Nashville and his style of play.#FlyTogether | @Honda pic.twitter.com/w4mcX0VhiJ
