La Albiceleste were perfect without their star man

Argentina comfortably defeated Bolivia 3-0 in a World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.

Leo Scaloni made the bold to rest his star player Lionel Messi, but that didn’t seem to affect the matter as the Argentinians swooped past an inferior side in the face of Bolivia.

“Leo was not ready to play,”  Scaloni said after the game. “He tried to recover, but he did not feel comfortable.”

It was Angel di Maria, who captained the side in Messi’s absence and he was in the heart of the opening goal as he provided the cross for Enzo Fernandez, who slotted the ball for a first-half lead.

Bolivia were reduced to 10 men as Roberto Fernandez was sent off for a high challenge on Christian Romero and the Argentinians took full advantage, doubling their lead through Nicolas Tagliafico just before the interval.

Gonzalez rounded off the final scoreline of 3-0 in the closing stages with a fine left-footed.

The World Champions now have 2 wins out of 2 games and are looking pretty for a comfortable World Cup qualification.
