The Canadian won the match after two tiebreak sets. There was not a single break in the game, which lasted 2 hours and 43 minutes. In the first set, Auger-Aliassime won the tiebreak with 7:5 points. The world number 6 also showed a better game in the tiebreak of the second set, in which he won with 10:8 points.
22-year-old Auger-Aliassime will face Francisco Cerundolo in the next round of the Miami Open 2023. Argentinian won 2:0 sets (6:4, 6:4) against Aleksandar Kovacevic (102nd in the world).
Felix Auger-Aliassime will be the favorite to win against Cerundolo. The Canadian reached the ¼-finals of Indian Wells earlier this month and will try to reach at least this round in Miami.
