The Boston Celtics are in the final steps of adding Charles Lee as their lead assistant manager.
The Boston franchise had their eyes on Lee for a long period of time as they wanted him to be part of the coaching staff. After Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors have no longer vacated coaching positions, Charles is available as he was among the names for both jobs.

Lee was an assistant manager in Milwaukee Bucks as he worked with manager Mike Budenholzer for the last 9 years as, 4 of these years they spent together in Milwaukee. He was a lead assistant coach last campaign after Darvin Ham became Los Angeles Lakers head coach.
Charles will work along with Sam Cassell, who was an assistant coach in the Philadelphia 76ers before that.
