Boston clinched 18th NBA trophy with the victory tonight.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 31 points, 11 assists, and 8 boards as Jaylen Brown added 21 points, 6 assists, and 8 boards for the Boston Celtics to defeat the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 and clinch the 2024 NBA Finals, triumphing with a record-setting 18th NBA title on the 16th anniversary of when they got the previous title also at the TD Garden.

After today’s title, Boston passed their forever rivals, the LA Lakers for the most-championships in the league history.

Celtics, after playing awful in its 1st opportunity to close this matchup at the end of the week, responded with a huge win at TD Garden behind phenomenals performances from both Tatum and Brown, which allowed the Celtics to decide the match early – the same scenario like in 2008 when Celtics humiliated Lakers in Game 6 at the same venue to win their last title.

Boston had a 21-point lead after the 1st half as Kristaps Porzingis, who missed the previous 2 matches from the series, helped as the center checked into the court midway through the 1st quarter.

Kyrie Irving again struggled against his ex-team as he scored only 15 points on 5-for-16 shooting tonight.

With the victory, Boston finished the postseason 16-3, 2nd only to the 2016-17 Warriors (16-1) since the league went to 4 best-of-7 rounds of the postseason 21 years ago.
