The D-backs made light use of their elusive opponent, despite being the clear underdog as they had a pretty poor finish to the regular season and nobody expected them to prevail in such a manner.
Zac Gallen allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings for his second win of the postseason. Gurriel come out with an RBI single to cap a three-run first, and the Diamondbacks chased rookie starter Bobby Miller in the second.
Gurriel made it 4-1 with a solo-homer in the 6th. Sewald pitched a perfect ninth for his third save of the postseason, helped by a brilliant catch from Gurriel in left field.
Gallen retired nine in a row during one stretch in only his second career postseason start. The 28-year-old gave up five hits, struck out four and walked two.
