Novak Djokovic had a completely different game at the 1/8-finals of the US Open, compared to the five-set nailbiter in the previous round.
Obviously, he was in no mood for another tense evening in New York and cruised into the last eight with a 6-2 7-5 6-4 over Borna Gojo.
Two days ago Djokovic had to come back from two-sets down against Laslo Djere to keep alive his bid for a fourth U.S. Open title that would see him match Margaret Court’s record haul of 24 Grand Slams.
Novak Djokovic has now reached *57* Major Quarter-Finals.
To put that into perspective, if someone was to reach their first QF in 2024, they would need to make *EVERY* Major Quarter-Final between then and 2039 to equal Novak! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Nearly 15 years worth of Major QFs! 👏… pic.twitter.com/wEVDWMX7VN

On Sunday, the 36-year-old Serb broke to open the contest and was never threatened as Gojo managed only a single break chance in the entire match. The next hurdle for Djokovic will be the home favorite Taylor Fritz, who advanced with a tidy 7-6(2) 6-4 6-4 win over Swiss qualifier Dominic Stricker.
