The Serbian was looking certain to lose, but managed to make a historic comeback

Novak Djokovic won the Masters tournament in Cincinnati after an extraordinary match in the final against Carlos Alcaraz. The Serbian won 5:7, 7:6(7) 7:6(4). The two played a great match, lasting historic 3 hours and 50 minutes, offering firs-class tennis from start to finish.

Djokovic had to go through a number of tough moments.

He lost by a set and a break, and at the beginning of the second part he was visibly feeling extremely bad because of the heat.

However, the Serbian once again found a way to overcome the pain, fending off a match point to claim his second win in four matches against the world No.1.

The two best tennis players in the world put on another show against each other, and the Joker is now just 20 points behind Alcaraz in the world rankings, with a strong chance of overtaking him in New York as the Spaniard will have to defend his last year’s trophy at the US Open.

The win is No. 1,069 for Djokovic in his career, moving him ahead of Rafael Nadal and Ivan Lendl (1,068 each) and behind only Jimmy Connors (1,274) and Roger Federer (1,251).

Djokovic and Alcaraz are the first two sure participants in the ATP finals this year. The 36-year-old Serbian has 6 titles from the competition. The final ATP tournament will be held in Turin from November 12 to 19.
