Despite facing a challenging year marred by injuries and surgeries, Emma Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, is gearing up for a return to the tennis court. The British sensation, who hasn’t played since April and saw a significant drop in her WTA rankings to 296th, is set to make her comeback at the upcoming tournament in New Zealand, scheduled from January 1 to 7.
The road to recovery has been a tough one for Raducanu, who has undergone three surgeries, including procedures on both hands and her left wrist. The injuries and subsequent surgeries forced her to sideline much of her 2022 season, limiting her to just nine games. However, with determination and resilience, she has worked tirelessly to overcome these setbacks and is now ready to re-enter the competitive tennis arena.
