Sergio Pérez has addressed the ongoing speculation about his future with Red Bull, firmly stating his commitment to the team for the 2024 Formula 1 season. Speaking ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Mexican driver reiterated his focus on continuing with Red Bull, despite persistent rumours linking Liam Lawson as a potential replacement.
Is this his last weekend or not? Sergio Perez told the media today: “Nothing has changed from what I have been saying all year.”
“I have a contract for next year and will be driving for Red Bull next year,” he said.

“Nothing has changed in terms of what I have been saying since the beginning of the year. I have a contract for next year, and I will drive for Red Bull then. I have already said that I am sure; I have nothing more to add,” Pérez clarified, downplaying the rumours.
While acknowledging the noise surrounding his position, Pérez emphasized that his focus remains unchanged. “I am aware of all the rumours, but nothing has changed in recent months. For the last six months, I have been repeating that I am here. I signed a new contract with the team earlier, and I am here to drive for the team next year,” he said.
Pérez also reflected on the challenges of the 2023 season but expressed confidence in his value to the team. “It’s important to stay together in this because, as I said, the season wasn’t the best. But, at the end of the day, there’s a reason the team extended my contract. They know I can still do it, and that’s an important factor,” he concluded.
Despite Pérez’s reassurances, unofficial reports suggest that Red Bull may still be weighing their options, with Liam Lawson reportedly under consideration. The situation will likely remain a focal point of the off-season discussions.
