This could be the first high-end sporting event to be hosted by the country
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has confirmed the country’s interest in hosting the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036, TASS reported. He announced this during the opening session of the International Olympic Committee in Bombay on Saturday.
“India is very interested in hosting the Olympics and will make all the efforts to organize it. It is the dream of 1.4 billion people, it should be realized with the help of your cooperation,” Modi said.
The 2036 Olympics could become the first high-level sports competition to be held in India. Earlier, Mexico, Turkey, Indonesia and Poland submitted a request to host the Olympic Games in 2036.
