Joe Mixon and the Cincinnati Bengals are on the verge of agreeing a new deal after contract restructure, which would see the veteran running back stay at the club on a more friendly-based contract, reports say.
Bengals’ RB Joe Mixon, who had $9.4 million non-guaranteed base salary, agreed tonight to restructure his contract to remain in Cincinnati. “Joe’s goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals,” said his agent… pic.twitter.com/AbMNhDteDL

Mixon has agreed to take a pay cut from his $10.1 m he was supposed to earn from his initial contract.
The terms of the contract are yet unknown, but state that the 26-year-old will return as the team’s top running back.
“Joe’s goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals,” Peter Schaffer, Mixon’s agent, said in a statement.
Mixon has spent his entire career with the Bengals after being drafted from Oklahoma in 2017, establishing himself as one of NFL most prominent running backs. After making his first Pro Bowl in 2021, the veteran racked up 814 rushing yards and seven touchdowns last season in 14 games played.
