Jared McCann scored twice, as he took his tally to 37 for the season. With them he has now scored three of his team’s last five short-handed goals.
Jordan Eberle opened the scoring for the Kraken as he planted the pluck past goaltender Prosvetov for his 100th point for the team. Carson Sousy made it 3-0, after McCann doubled the lead . Arizona pulled one back through Lawson Crouse but hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Seattle strolled to a commanding lead.
“Jared’s killed in the league for a lot of years,” head- coach Dave Hakstol said. “For the first half of the year, before Christmas, we didn’t have him involved in the kill as much, trying to spread some minutes out.
“We changed the structure of our kill a little bit. He fits the structure of this kill very well and he’s done a Nice job.”
Tensions got high towards the end as Jamie Oleksiak and Liam O’Brien embroiled themselves in a fight. Josh Brown was given a 10-minute misconduct with double minor for roughing.
