The Catalans had to dig deep in order to break the deadlock

Barcelona achieved their first victory of the season in a hard-fought match against Cadiz at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday night.

The Catalans were the dominant team throughout the entirety of the game as they held most of the possession, had more shots, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Xavi’s men had to wait until the 82nd minutes, when Pedri carved the away team’s defenses after picking up a superb pass from Ilkay Gundogan.

Ferran Torres doubled the lead and wrapped it up for Barcelona deep into stoppage time.

The win is a huge relief for Xavi’s men, who began the campaign with an unimpressive 0-0 draw at Getafe and now trail 2 points to early leaders Real Madrid.
