Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc made it two pole positions in two days winning the new sprint shootout at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Saturday.
Leclerc took pole for the sprint race despite crashing on his final lap of the shortened qualifying session. The Sprint race will be held later today and the first eight finishers will add points to their World championship standings.

Leclerc beat Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen, with Mercedes driver George Russell in fourth and Lewis Hamilton sixth behind Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, who was compromised in his final lap by Leclerc, who crashed in front of him and yellow flags were waved, which meant the Spaniard couldn’t improve on his time.
