Man City makes a 2-1 comeback to leave Luton empty-handed

The Citizens missed their big leader Erling Haaland, but managed to score two goals after the breal

Manchester City had to fight their way back from 0-1 down, but managed to beat Luton away 2-1 and keep themselves close to the top.

In the stoppage time of the first half, Luton surprised Manchester City and opened the scoring. Ross Barkley showed great technique in midfield and launched a pass to the left side. Doughty received the ball and passed it to Andros Townsend.

The former Everton and Crystal Palace player crossed with his left foot and found Elijah Adebayo, who headed the ball into the net – 1-0.

City kicked off the second half on a high note and the heavy pressure paid off in the 62nd minute when they equalized.

Rodri broke into the Luton penalty area. He was stopped, but the ball reached Bernardo Silva, who scored a great goal to make it 1-1.

Only 3 minutes later Julián Alvarez took the ball away from opponent’s feet and found pass to Jack Grealish with good pass, who made no mistake from a free position and put his team ahead in the result.

In the standings, Manchester City is 4th with 33 points and Luton is in 18th position with 9 points.
