Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is set to buy a 25% minority stake at the club, is believed to have given the green light for a potential transfer for the Brazilian, who was acquired for £70m from Real Madrid last summer.
The 31-year-old enjoyed a scintillating first campaign at Old Trafford, helping the Red Devils return to the Champions League and securing the Carabao Cup, their first trophy in 6 years.
However, a significant dip in form in his second season has led to many speculation about his future. His injury woes are not helpful also, as he is currently sidelined with a hamstring issue.
Should he make the move to the Middle East, he would become yet another high-profile name to join the highly lucrative Saudi Pro League.
