A controversial refereeing decision saw avalanche of fans flood the ring

Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III exhibition fight was interrupted by massive brawl, engulfed by fans, who flooded the ring after a controversial decision.

Match official Kenny Bayliss stopped the match in the sixth round, which infuriated Gotti, who lashed out at his opponent as a consequence.

The ring was then swarmed by members from both teams as the referee was unable to contain the massive brawl.

Police had to intervene as the arena was cleared from the enraged fans, who were threatened with charges if they refused to leave.

In a social media video afterwards Mayweather was filmed saying: “That’s why they pay the big bucks, because I put on a show.”

The 46-year-old retired in 2017 with a record of 50-0 and since then has appeared in several exhibition fights.

It was his first exhibition in the United States since 2021.
