McLaren has won the 2024 constructors’ championship, marking the team’s 1st F1 title since Lewis Hamilton won the driver’s title in 2008.
The triumph also ends a 26-year constructors’ title drought for McLaren, dating back to the 1998 campaign when Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard secured the title back then.
The team can thank Lando Norris’ triumph at the Abu Dhabi GP, who defeated Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

McLaren were made to worry after Oscar Piastri crashed at the first corner with Max Verstappen, which the champion was penalized for. Oscar also received a 10-second penalty later in the race for a clash with Franco Colapinto and finished P11.
However, with Lando’s victory, McLaren won the constructors title by 14 points. That is the team’s 9th constructors’ trophy in its 58-year Formula 1 history, meaning it now ranks equal seconds with Williams in the all-time records just behind the leader Ferrari as the Italian team have 16.
CHAMPIONS. 🏆
It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t perfect. But it was everything this team stands for. 💪
To everyone who's poured their heart into this journey – on the track, in the factory, and around the world – we couldn’t have done it without you. 🧡#ThisTeam pic.twitter.com/DQBj2eh9EO
