Rafa Nadal from Spain eliminated Marton Fucsovics from Hungary after 2-1 sets victory and advanced to the 2nd round on singles in Paris where he will face his great rival Novak Djokovic.

Not Rafa’s best tennis
But he wasn’t even sure he’d be able to take the court today
No matter the injuries & trials he’s faced in his career, his legendary fighting spirit never once wavered
Today was no exception

Nadal was dominant in the 1st set and needed only 32 minutes to close it 6-1. The Spaniard converted 2 break opportunities from 2 chances while not giving a single break chance to his opponent.
However, in the 2nd set, Fucsovics started to play better and was able to break Rafa’s serve twice to win the set 6-4. Nadal converted 1 break from 1 chance, but it was not enough for him even to force a tiebreak.
In the 3rd set, 1 break from 5 chances was enough for Nadal to win it and close the match as his Hungarian opponent had 4 break opportunities, but Rafa saved them all.
Rafa played this match less than 24 hours after his victory with Carlos Alcaraz at the doubles tournament and the Spaniard even shared yesterday that he is not sure if he will compete on single so early in the day but in the end he decided to play and was successful.
