Pittsburgh will welcome the 2026 NFL draft, the league reported today, marking the 1st time the city has welcomed the draft since the event moved out of the Big Apple in 2015.
The franchise president and CEO, Art Rooney II, revealed that they think to welcome the event outside Acrisure Stadium.
“The roots of pro football really are deep in our region, and so we plan to celebrate really the history of football: the Dan Marinos, the Joe Montanas that came from our area,” Rooney said Wednesday.
“The roots of this game are really significant in Pittsburgh, and so we are ready to really celebrate the history of the sport: the Dan Marinos and the Joe Montanas that came from our region,” the team president shared today with reporters.
He added that welcoming the draft is significant for the Steelers that is honor on building its best rosters will picks at the draft.
