Despite the league still believing that the organization must remain in Arizona, the NHL didn’t trust the Coyotes’ newest plan to build a venue in Phoenix, which featured the team owner’s bid to win a land auction in the summer.
The league is ready with plan B, which would sell the franchise to Ryan and Ashley Smith, owners of the National Basketball Association’s Utah Jazz, in a relocation move to Salt Lake City.
Because of that, the National Hockey League is preparing 2 schedules for the next campaign – 1 involving the team in Arizona and 1 if they relocate to Utah.
Official relocation news could be shared until the end of the month.
The Coyotes declined to discuss the possibility of the team’s relocation to Utah starting next campaign.
