Murray and Porter Jr were leading Denver with 29 and 27 points

Jamal Murray notched 29 points, complemented by Michael Porter Jr.’s 27, as the Denver Nuggets halted the Los Angeles Lakers’ three-game winning streak with a 114-106 triumph on Thursday night.

Nikola Jokic showcased his prowess with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists for the reigning NBA champions, who initiated a three-game road trip on a high note, securing their third consecutive victory and eighth in their last 10 outings.

Despite squandering a 15-point lead in the second half, Denver maintained control throughout the game and clinched the win with a decisive 10-2 run. Notably, this victory unfolded in the same arena where the Nuggets triumphed over the Lakers twice, completing a sweep in the Western Conference finals last May.

Anthony Davis contributed 32 points, while LeBron James added 25 for the Lakers. The defeat marked the end of Los Angeles’ three-game winning streak, which began after a promising six-game road trip. In addition to his scoring, James pulled down nine rebounds and dished out seven assists, while Austin Reaves posted 15 points and 10 assists in a solid performance.
