Paris St-Germain thinks they have been left with no other choice than to respond to Textor’s interview a few days ago with a Brazilian newspaper.
In it, the Lyon owner, who through his Eagle Football Holdings group is a majority owner in the club and the biggest shareholder in EPL team Crystal Palace, claimed he was competing vs. “a country, not an owner” and that Paris St-Germain were a “model of unbridled spending, without limitations”.
The Parisian team is owned since 2011 by Qatar Sports Investments, which has ties with the government and the Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund.
John Textor is also the largest shareholder of the Brazilian elite team Botafogo.
