Real Sociedad beat Benfica after 3 goals in 1st half

Real Sociedad won against Benfica 3-1 at Reale Arena in San Sebastian as the home side scored 3 goals after 21 minutes since the beginning of the clash. Brais Mendez missed a penalty in the 29^th minute that could make their lead 4 goals.

Mikel Merino netted in the 6^th minute after Aihen Munoz’s assist as Mikel Oyarzabal doubled the lead of the Basque team in the 11^th minute. Ander Barrenetxea made it 3-0 in the 21^st minute after Mikel Merino’s assist.

The Portuguese club scored at the beginning of the 2^nd half in the 51^st minute as Rafa Silva netted the goal after Nicolas Otamendi’s assist. However, Benfica failed to do anything more and score another goal to put the pressure back on the home side.
