Sinner, world number 8, destroyed his opponent in the 1st set 6-1 after converting 2 break points from 5.
However, Holger returned in the 2nd set and won it 7-5 after breaking the Italian player’s serve twice from 8 chances, as the 2nd break was when Sinner served to make it 6-6 and play a tiebreak.
In the 3rd set, we saw only 1 break, but again the Danish player broke his Italian opponent’s serve in the latest possible moment before the tiebreak.
Holger Rune is the first teenager to reach the Monte Carlo final since Rafael Nadal in 2006.
