The Sacramento Kings revealed that rookie Devin Carter underwent a left shoulder procedure to repair a torn labrum.
The franchise shared that Carter will be re-evaluated in approximately 6 months.
Devin, who played in the previous 2 campaigns at Providence College after transferring from South Carolina, was picked 13th overall in this year’s draft. Carter averaged almost 20 points, 9 boards, and 4 assists in the last campaign for the Friars, triumphing with the Big East Player of the Year.
Sacramento signed DeMar DeRozan in a 3-team sign-and-trade with the Bulls and Spurs. Kings traded away Harrison Barnes and an unprotected 2031 selection swap to San Antonio. The Bulls got Chris Duarte, 2 2nd-round draft selections and cash considerations from Sacramento.
Kings disappointed in the postseason in the past campaign and will look to get better to be a contender in the upcoming season.
