The San Francisco 49ers are still making everything possible to sign a long-term deal with Brandon Aiyuk but also have agreed to parameters of an exchange that would send the WR to the Steelers.
The defending NFC champ San Francisco doesn’t want to let the star wide receiver leave, but deal discussions have at times been contentious as the 2nd-team All-Pro continues his hold-in at practice camp.
Discussions between the franchise from the Bay and Pittsburgh have quieted these days, but rumors are that the Brandon trade is “1 phone call away.”
The 49ers revealed in the past week that the wide receiver had received green light to discuss trades with other organizations, but also have shared that there is a scenario where a contract gets done to keep the 4-year veteran at the team.
Cleveland and New England were also interested in trading for Aiyuk, but the Pats dropped out of the trade discussions in the past few days.
The San Francisco #49ers have met Brandon Aiyuk’s demands of Annual Salary (near $28M avg), per source.
The hold up I’m told is:
Amount of years & guaranteed $ on the deal. #Niners want to give Aiyuk a 3Yr extension (4yrs total), BA wants a 4Yr extension (5yrs total). #FTTB pic.twitter.com/NPnXnv83ST
