Serbia is aiming for its 1st Olympic medal since the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, where they finished 2nd. That was the debut Olympic for a then 21-year-old Nikola.
Bogdan admitted after the match that, at one point, he and his teammates doubted that they would be able to complete a comeback.
“To speak frankly, we didn’t keep cool,” Bogdanovic claimed. “But we knew we were down, and we needed to find some momentum and rhythm. Australia had the whole momentum during the 1st half. As I revealed in the past, this is the biggest pressure of the competition – the ¼ finals. You know if you are defeated, you’re eliminated from the tournament.”
