Louis van Gaal has made the claim that the 2022 World Cup at Qatar had been fixed in order to help Lionel Messi finally lift the trophy.
Messi led his country to a historic success after scoring twice in a memorable final against France, which went down to the wire and was eventually decided by penalties.
The Argentinians were involved in equally dramatic 1/4 final encounter with the Netherlands with tempers and emotions flying high during and after the game.

Van Gaal stepped down as head-coach after the Netherlands dramatic exit, but he didn’t shy away from criticism in his assessment.
“I don’t really want to say much about it. When you see how Argentina gets the goals and how we get the goals, and how some Argentina players overstepped the mark and were not punished, then I think it all premeditated game.” the big Dutchman commented.
