Max Verstappen of Red Bull demonstrated dominance as he secured pole position at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Verstappen’s exceptional performance in final qualifying eliminated the need for a second lap, outpacing Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc by 0.319 seconds.
Making his Formula 1 debut at just 18 years old, Ferrari’s Oliver Bearman, the youngest British driver in F1 history, achieved a commendable 11th position, trailing Leclerc by 0.53 seconds in the second session.
In the Mercedes camp, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton secured the seventh and eighth positions, respectively.
Leclerc acknowledged that there was nothing more to extract from the car, having jumped from fourth to second place with his final lap. This underscored Verstappen’s substantial superiority.
Verstappen showcased his prowess by being 0.335 seconds faster than Sergio Perez on their initial runs in the top 10 shootout. As neither Perez nor Leclerc could improve their times, Verstappen opted out of his final lap.
