Washington’s Kalen DeBoer, who led the Huskies to a Pac-12 title and a place in the College Football Playoff National Championship match this past campaign, has agreed to become Alabama’s next boss.

He informed the Huskies today that he is leaving his post to become Bama’s new manager, and it is expected that everything will become official very soon.
DeBoer will replace legendary Nick Saban, whose schools won 9 SEC championships and 6 National Titles in his 17 years in college football. Nick, who had a 206-29 record at Alabama, retired two days ago.
Washington athletic director Troy Dannen tried everything possible to keep Kalen at his current position, offering him a new deal that would make him 1 of the 10 highest-paid managers in college football and double his current annual salary of over 4 million dollars.
DeBoer will owe Washington a 12-million-dollar buyout if he quits. Kalen inked a 2-year deal extension through the 2028 campaign a few months ago.
