The world number 1 from Spain, who won against 23-time Grand Slam champ Novak Djokovic in a 5-set Wimbledon final in the past weekend, had only 3 aces compared to 6 for his opponent from Croatia but saved both break points he faced.
It was the Spaniard’s 2nd win in a row in the Hopman Cup after defeating David Goffin two days ago.
After reaching the final at the Queen’s Club and triumphing with his 1st crass court title, Carlos continued his dominance on grass as earlier in his career; the Spaniard shared that he prefers the other surfaces, but given his recent success, he can think otherwise at the moment.
The Hopman Cup is on Sunday.
