The right-back scored 10 minutes from time to secure a vital point for Jurgen Klopp side and keep them close to City in the standings.
However, the 25-year-old did not celebrate in the most sportsmanship way as he stood in front of City supporter, putting his finger on his lips.
Those action will be investigated by the FA as the law states that any offensive action against the opposing supporters should be punished.
A match ban is unlikely to occur, as fine, coupled with reprimand seems like the obvious outcome.
After the game, Alexander-Arnold said of his celebration: “It’s always good to celebrate in front of away fans. Seeing all of the faces is really funny.”
