The attacker had joined the German club on a campaign-long loan in the summer but has only been featured 3 times from the 1st minute on the pitch in 15 matches in all tournaments for the Bundesliga side so far this campaign.

Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schroder shared that both clubs had higher expectations for the winger for his time in Germany and mostly the player about how much he will play.
“Because of the quality and competition within our team at his position, we cannot guarantee a starting position for Fabio,” Schroder shared. “We held several talks in the past few days with him and, in the end, decided to end his loan before the end of the season.”
