The Rossoneri have almost no chance of qualifying for the knockout stage

Borussia Dortmund is the first team from the so called “Group of death” in the Champions League to secure a spot at the 1/8-finals after beating AC Milan 3-1 away. In very intensive battle at the San Siro, the German team capitalized on the Rossoneri’s mistakes and got the important three points.

The game started good for Milan and they won a penalty in the 6 minute, but Olivier Giroud missed it. Four minutes later Borussia also got a penalty kick, but on the other side of the pitch Marko Reus converted it for 0-1.

Five minutes before the break Samuel Chukwueze dribbled brilliantly by the out line and scored from a tight angle to equalize. In the beginning of the second half Malick Thiaw got injured and Stefano Pioli had to put in Rade Krunic as a central defender, despite being a midfielder. This obviously shook Milan’s defensive line and Bynoe-Gittens took advantage of it to score for 1-2 in the 59 minute.

Just ten minutes later Borussia wrapped the win when Adeyem took a shot, Maignan didn’t manage to save it and the ball rolled over the goal line.

This way Borussia Dortmund stays on top of the group with 10 points, second is PSG with 7 and Milan alongside Newcastle are with 5.
