Grigor Dimitrov withdraws from Barcelona 500 due to illness

Grigor Dimitrov withdrew from the ATP 500 series in Barcelona less than an hour before his match against Alex De Minaur.

The reason is an illness of the Bulgarian and the decision came at the last possible moment. Their clash was supposed to start around 5:00 on Thursday morning.

Dimitrov hoped to be able to play until the end, but it became clear that this was impossible. World’s no. 31 was a victim of a robbery in Barcelona couple of days ago, but was unharmed and only got away with a stolen watch.
