The Italian has managed to bag only a single win and has left the 7-time French champion lingering bottom of the table.
The team confirmed that Frenchman Pierre Sage will take over as interim manager.
“Olympique Lyonnais would like to thank Fabio Grosso and his assistants for their dedication and professionalism since taking over the professional team,” Lyon said.
The decision comes after 2-0 defeat to Lille on Sunday, which left Lyon with only 7 points from 12 games, 5 away from escaping the danger zone.
Grosso stayed at the wheel for only 11 weeks after replacing Laurent Blanc. His contract was set to expires in 2024, but the club has terminated it, putting Sage in his place.
