Lyon boss Fabio Grosso shared that the attack on his team’s bus at the end of the weekend “could have been a tragedy.”
Lyon has requested for the postponed game against Marseille to be played on neutral ground following the incident which saw boss Fabio Grosso receive 12 stitches to the face.

Lyon’s bus was struck with stones and bricks as the club made their way to the Stade Vélodrome for a fixture against Marseille in Ligue 1, as the match was postponed after the incident.
Fabio, who needed 12 stitches after sustaining cuts to his forehead and left eye, talked about the awful incident for the 1st time on social media.
“What happened on our way to Marseille could have been a tragedy, and it definitely was for sport and for all those who support it,” Grosso shared.
“I hope that such a thing will never happen again in the future and that it can be a lesson for everybody.
“I really appreciate all the support and love that I received in the past several days.”
