The European champions finished the year with fifth trophy

Manchester City finished 2023 with five trophies out of six possible. The champions of England and Europe defeated Fluminense 4-0 at the Club World Cup final in Jeddah to win their first such trophy.

After the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League gold medals, the Citizens lifter the European Super Cup as well, but failed to clinch the Community Shield trophy to make it 6 out of 6 possible trophies in 2023.

Not even a minute had passed in Jeddah when Nathan Ake decided to take a long-range shot, and the ball rebounded off the left post. However, Julian Alvarez was the most alert, creating space to capitalize on the rebound and scoring with his body – 1-0 for Manchester City.

In the 72nd minute, Julian Alvarez fed Foden in the penalty area and calmly found the bottom right corner, extending Manchester City’s lead to 3-0.

Two minutes before the end, Julian Alvarez netted his second goal of the match, receiving the ball in the penalty area from Mateusz Nunez and expertly sending a powerful shot into Fabio’s net.
