2010/11 Premier League top scorer Dimitar Berbatov has called on his former team to wake up and sort out the mess. The Red Devils lost heavily 0-2 to Tottenham in their second game in the English league of the new campaign.
“Tottenham scored and they were getting more and more confident, so they kept pushing. To be honest, we shouldn’t take anything away from Spurs. They played a good game, especially in the second half. It’s only one game of course. Tottenham need to start building, while United need to wake up as soon as possible. When you don’t score and miss good chances, that’s what happens,” Berbatov said.
“Especially the second half was weak for United. The first one was ok, they had a couple of chances to score and so did Tottenham who hit the post. It’s completely different when you score first. Of course you can score first and lose, but if you are a good team you will know how to keep your lead. Not so in United’s case. The second half was almost the same as the match with Wolverhampton”, he added.
