PSG have been labelled an “ordinary side with abysmal weaknesses” by the French press, as Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe both given 3/10 in L’Equipe infamous player ratings for their lacklustre display.
Having lost the first leg 1-0 in Paris, PSG were totally outplayed in the return leg in Munich by a strong Bayern side, which saw them progress to the quarterfinals. PSG have suffered yet another dismal and utterly disappointing exit in the Champions league, their second succesive at that stage, after going down to eventual winners Real Madrid in 2022.
Neither Messi, nor Mbappe could produce any of their memorable performances during the 2022 World Cup, which saw them face against each other in the final, and they were deservedly given a damning verdict.
Marco Verratti was slammed even further, as the Italian midfielder is given only 2/10. He was the main culprit for Bayern Munich’s opening goal.
PSG future looks bleak to say the least, with the team uncertain of keeping neither Messi, nor Mbappe, nor injured Neymar. Manager Christophe Galtier is expectedly under huge fire and is unlikely to keep his job at the wheel of the club.
