Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly ready to invest heavily in the club’s future by offering a substantial transfer budget of €230 million to Antonio Conte if he is appointed as the new head coach.
De Laurentiis is also prepared to offer Conte a salary of €9 million per year, with an additional €1 million bonus for winning Serie A. The contract under negotiation is said to be for three years.
One of the primary tasks for the new manager will be to find a replacement for Victor Osimhen, the club’s top scorer, who is expected to leave Napoli for Paris Saint-Germain or another major European club as a lot of Premier League teams show interest in the Nigerian forward. Osimhen’s departure will leave a significant gap in the squad, and the central striker position will be a priority in the upcoming transfer market.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is the other big name in Napoli, is also reported to be in contacts with PSG and could leave “Diego Armando Maradona” as well. If the Georgian is sold, the transfer budget can be bumped up to 350 million euros, which if spent, will most probably make Napoli one of the biggest spenders in the upcoming summer.
Antonio Conte was linked with AC Milan as well, but the Rossonerri look certain to sign Paulo Fonseca as new coach, although nothing has been officially announced.
