The NY Jets, performing awfully on offense since the beginning of the campaign, benched QB Zach Wilson today, another major blow for a footballer once considered the organization’s future.
This will be the 3rd benching in over a year for Zach, who may have played his last match for the franchise. The 2021 number 2 overall selection will be replaced by Tim Boyle, who will start the team’s next clash vs. the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium.

The move is significant as the franchise plan before the beginning of the season was for Wilson to learn from Aaron Rodgers for a campaign or 2 before being named QB1 – a plan that Aaron himself approved. However, things look very different now as no one around the organization trusts him after his poor display after Rodgers’s injury in the Jets opener.
