England captain Owen Farrell will be unavailable for his country for the 1st two clashes at the Rugby World Cup after a commission upheld his red card today, handing the flyhalf a 4-game ban, including Pool D games vs. Argentina and Japan.
The England captain was sent off during their 19-17 victory vs. Wales on August 12th for a high tackle on Taine Basham, but in the past week, he had his red card rescinded by the Six Nations after a hearing.

His country’s 29-10 defeat to Ireland during the weekend served as the 1st game of his suspension, and Owen will be unavailable for the final warm-up match vs. Fiji in the next few days.
The Rugby World Cup begins on September 8th in France, and England will have to win in the 1st two fixtures without their captain as their 1st match is on September 9th.
