Julian Nagelsmann claims he doesn’t plan on stepping down after Germany’s loss against Paraguay at the World Cup, which sent them home.
The German national team manager shared the elimination was “very bitter” after his team failed to break down an “ultra-defensive” side, but revealed he wants to keep his position if the DFB is behind him.
Germany was eliminated in the 1/16 finals of the World Cup after losing to Paraguay on a shootout. Despite the defeat, Julian shared with the media after the game that he will not resign.
“I’m not someone who will run away,” Germany’s head coach shared. “This is not something that happened for the 1st time in my career, and I know what must be changed. If the German football federation wants me to continue, I will remain the boss of this team.”
Julian added that he already talked with DFB officials after the elimination from the World Cup, but they didn’t discuss his future.
