Cristiano Ronaldo was one of them as the 38-year-old was enraged by the referee’s decision to rule out his teammate Talisca goal at the end of the first half. Ronaldo made a gesture towards the camera that the referee should be substituted.
Moments later Talisca was given his marching order after a video replay deemed his foul dangerous and Al-Nassr were reduced to 10 men.
Ronaldo was already booked in the first half for an aggressive behavior towards the referee, but manage to avoid a second yellow for his gesture.
Al-Ettifaq, led by Steven Gerrard, were also reduced to 10-men with midfielder Ali Hazazi sent off for a foul which led to a brawl between the two teams.
