Richarlison showed his commitment to Tottenham Hotspur despite receiving a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club. The Brazilian forward, who joined Spurs from Everton in 2022 for a then-club-record fee of £60 million, has been a key player for the team but struggled to secure a regular starting position last season under manager Ange Postecoglou.

Richarlison, now 27, has netted 15 goals in 66 appearances for Tottenham. Despite interest from several clubs in Saudi Arabia, including one unnamed team that made a formal bid, Richarlison has decided to remain in England. His motivation is tied to his aspirations of continuing his international career with Brazil, where playing in the Premier League is seen as a strong factor in maintaining his visibility and form for national team selection.
In an interview with ESPN Brazil, Richarlison stated, “There has been an offer, but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Selecao and in the Premier League speaks louder.” His current contract with Tottenham runs until 2027.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur is in the market for a new striker and has shown interest in Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke. Solanke, who scored 21 goals in 42 games last season, has a £65 million release clause, but Spurs reportedly value him at a lower price. Bournemouth is keen to retain Solanke, especially after his strong performances, though he was overlooked for England’s Euro 2024 squad.
