Spurs end their negative record, flying past the Magpies

Tottenham defeated Newcastle 4-1 at home to return on winning ways in the Premier League. Spurs were by far the best team on Sunday night and got the three points for the first time since October 27.

In the 26th minute, Tottenham managed to open the scoring. Son received a good ball down the wing and beat Trippier before crossing and Udogie was able to finish into an empty net to put Spurs ahead.

In the 38th minute, Son was once again left unmarked and Trippier was again not good enough defensively as he looked confused and was easily beaten by the South Korean before Richarlison finished to double Spurs’ lead.

In the 60th minute Pedro Porro crossed into the box and found Richarlison who controlled the ball and fired it into the bottom right corner to make it 3-0.

Five minutes before the end of regular time, Son found himself face to face with the goalkeeper and managed to go past him, but Dubravka fouled him and the referee awarded a penalty. It was the Korean who stood behind the ball and made the score 4-0.

In stoppage time, the Magpies scored their goal after Callum Wilson found Joelinton free in the penalty area, and the Brazilian fired furiously to score for 4-1.
