This recognition comes after Vinicius narrowly missed out on the Ballon d’Or, which was awarded to Manchester City midfielder Rodri—a decision that sparked outrage in Madrid and led to a Real Madrid boycott of the October Ballon d’Or ceremony.
Vinicius topped the FIFA Best vote, finishing five points ahead of Rodri, who came in second. England’s Jude Bellingham claimed third place in the rankings.
In the women’s category, Barcelona star Aitana Bonmatí was named the FIFA Best women’s player for the second consecutive year, solidifying her status as one of the top talents in women’s football.
